Skera is a local desktop image viewer. It is designed so that the simplest possible statement about your data is also the true one: it stays on your computer.
What Skera collects
Nothing. Skera has no account system, no sign-in, no analytics and no telemetry. It does not create a user profile and does not transmit your images, file names, metadata or usage to Adnan Temur Barcha, Nexylius, or any third party.
How your files are handled
When you open a folder, Skera reads the image files on your device only to display them, decode RAW formats and show EXIF metadata in the Info panel. This processing happens entirely on your computer. Skera does not upload, copy to a remote location, or share any file you open.
EXIF data — including any GPS coordinates embedded in your photographs by your camera — is shown to you locally and is never sent anywhere.
Skera can adjust and save a photo — White Balance, Tone, Presence, Color and rotation — but every edit is a live preview only until you explicitly choose Save or Save a Copy. Nothing on disk changes until you take that action yourself.
Local storage on your device
To stay fast, Skera keeps a temporary in-memory cache of recently viewed images and may store small preferences (such as window size or last-used settings) locally on your device. This information never leaves your machine and can be cleared by removing the app's local data.
File associations
Skera can register as a viewer for image files, but it does not hijack your system's default applications. Your existing defaults are left as they are unless you choose to change them yourself through your operating system.
Network access
The Skera application does not require an internet connection to view your images. Any network request you make is one you initiate explicitly — for example, clicking a link to this website or to the GitHub releases page to check for or download a new version.
This website
skera.nexylius.com is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers or fonts — the typefaces are served from this domain. Download buttons link directly to GitHub, and following one sends your request to GitHub under their own privacy policy, as any link would.
Children's privacy
Skera does not collect personal information from anyone, including children, and is not directed at children. Because no data is gathered or transmitted, no personal data of any user is processed.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date above. Material changes will accompany a new app release.
